Introduction: My new muse – The Mini VW Campervan and reflection…
My new muse came to life at this excellent photo e-course, where one out of many tasks was to play with perspective. Thought about the photography task for that week, took the mini camper van in my pocket and went out to play. I was very excited what I was going to come home with. I had so much fun and meet people who was curious what I was doing lying there on the street!
The image above was taken this Sunday walking around in my neighbourhood with the mini camper van in my pocket. I had taken several that day and struggled having the camper van in focus, as it takes several awkward positions before it’s right. Finally I got the shoot I was after and even better with a reflection.

Mini VW on the much debated Edinburgh tram rails

Cruising Stockbridge by night…
How did the Mini VW Campervan come into my life? It was actually given to Martin for his 40th birthday last year from my dad. My dad said something like: “this miniature VW version will keep you dream in sight and it will be easier to go after it!”. I thought it was such a sweet and personal gift from my dad; that he had picked up on how much we dreamed about owning a real VW campervan. Hope we get there…I am sure we will is more like it!
My plan is to shoot this little camper wherever I go and when I am in “perspective-playing-mood”.
I have created a gallery below form the journeys of this little one, work in progress.
Try it! – Ideas for different perspectives:
- The side
- Frog – Ground level and below
- Bird - From above, stand on something..
- “Human-stretched-legs-view” - my own description, lol and the easiest perspective I think.
Hope you have enjoyed it and get playing with some different perspectives!
Cheers,
ML

Say Hello…
Yaaay. Cool pictures. I sure hope to see that little VW cruising past (slowly) one day. I’d love to meet the little driver and all of the itty-bitty passengers. Whoopee!
Looking forward to see more mini adventures…er VW adventures
Love, Snowboy
Hey Snowboy. Thanks for your nice words. For the moment the passengers are quit afraid from the camera so they hide under the seats!. I am sure the mini VW will go on new adventures and the owners of the mini will be happy to meet you too
Cheerio, The miniatures and ML.
